Raise a Voice for Life & Dignity in CaliforniaTake Action!
You Can Magnify the Messages Catholics are Bringing to Sacramento this Week

You can significantly increase the influence the Catholic Legislative Network brings to our lawmakers by adding your voice to those of arch/diocesan delegates meeting with lawmakers this week. Those delegates are advocating for protecting life, expanding educational opportunities, feeding the hungry and promoting justice.
Catholic delegates will speak with lawmakers this week on four key statewide issues which will be compiled into a custom report for your arch/diocese. (Click here for backgrounders.) They will then schedule in-district meetings for you and your representative to talk about these issues and to explore local concerns as well.
Click TAKE ACTION now to add your support to the issues and for the in-district meetings where you can continue the dialogue with your representative.
The statewide issues are:
Eliminating subsidies for abortion providers – Family PACT agencies (which provide abortions) have twice been exempted from budget cuts that affect other health providers despite the fact that more than two-thirds of Americans object to spending government funds for abortion.
Expanding access to CalFresh (food stamps) – Nearly 60 percent of those eligible for food stamps do not participate – in part due to constant re-registration requirements. Why does California continue to have one of the most restrictive processes in the nation? (AB 6 CalFresh.)
Revising Juvenile Life without Parole Sentencing (LWOP) – Science and common sense tell us that teenagers don’t always make the right decisions. Without hope, why should a kid in prison even try? (SB 9 Sentencing.)
Advancing education with the DREAM Act – Allows undocumented high school graduates to apply for state financial aid when accepted into a California college. Smart, qualified and driven students want to serve this state and nation, but we turn them down because of something their parents did. (AB 130 & 131 DREAM Act.)
Please prayerfully consider supporting these delegates and the Bishops of California in this effort to expand our voice for life and dignity in California.
Please send an email today. Thank you.
